Randy’s Random Rants

August 18, 08 by rbennett

So I started to think about some random things and thought I would hopefully make a worthless rant worthwhile.

Is it really so horrible to open a door for another man? Really?

I lick cookies at home so my soon to be wife wont eat them.

cookies

I think my wife will feel special because I write her love letters weekly. However she tells me they are not love letters but merely a grocery list full of bachelor foods.

1 Month Race to the Fridge

July 29, 08 by rbennett

* Last Updated on August 18, 2008

I figured I would try to make my blog interactive this month. As many of you may know, I am soon to be married in almost 1 month exactly. I plan to take the plunge on the much anticipated date of September 1st, 2008 at 11:30 (heh i hope 11:30 or at least that is when I will be there)!

Well with one month out I would have liked to have more time in getting seriously in shape but I have planned on making it a personal challenge to lose as much weight or body fat in the next 33 days as I possibly can to make my tux look like it would fit a much fatter man!

The best of all of us

With this post I will update it frequently adding what things I ate & exercised in one day. Let’s hope I can do this honestly! I wont say how “Fat” I am but we’ll start at +/- 0 for right now as my weight has been unchanged from the beginning of this blog that I am writing.

Check frequently if your interested in following along. Also I ride my bike very often, i have came up with a bike route of almost exactly 14 miles in the country that I am trying to best myself everytime I go out. I will post times and the dates and how quickly i completed to see my progress or lack therefore of progress….. Read the rest of this entry »

A step into the Future but a distance away from a REAL direction

who really wins

Utah this summer will become what experts say is the first state to institute a mandatory four-day work week for most state employees, joining local governments across the nation that are altering schedules to save money, energy and resources.

It is not a typo, 4 work days a week! I don’t know about you but I have experienced burn-out numerous amount of times at my job as well as my free-lancing job (web design); all due to needing a little R&R (rest). I find myself on auto-pilot way too many times; daydreaming about pink unicorns always beats a day at the office….at least that’s what I always say. As we speak I am at work…writing about work…loathing work.

Would a 4 day work week really work?

Before I find myself going to Neverland again, here are some Pro’s and Cons Read the rest of this entry »

Abnegation - To infinity and beyond

First off let’s start this off right and get the mood started….
(click play…just do it)

Now that the mood has been set, the question is at hand. “Do you believe they put a man on the moon”?

Before I put my 2 cents worth in I will give you a little factual information leading up to my belief.

The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of Project Apollo and the third human voyage to the Moon. Launched on July 161969, it carried Commander Neil Alden Armstrong, On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon, while Collins orbited above.

The mission fulfilled President John F. Kennedy’s goal of reaching the moon by the end of the 1960s, which he expressed during a 1961 speech: “I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth.”
